One of the most disturbing movies ever, Wolf Creek is about three backpackers in the Australian outback who are befriended by a local who turns out to be a crazed psychopath. It was based on the experiences of British tourists Peter Falconio and Joanne Lees. Peter did not survive the ordeal.

Zodiac is a 2007 mystery thriller based on the Zodiac Killer who terrorized the Bay area in San Francisco between 1968 and 1969. The Zodiac killer was never caught.

3. Alive.

Alive is a 1993 survival drama film based on the unfortunate but true events of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 which crashed in the Andes on October 13th, 1972. The surviving members of the total 45 people were rescued 2 months after the crash. They had to eat the dead bodies of the deceased passengers to stay alive in the harsh cold weather. It is also one of the most disturbing movies of all time.
