Energy drinks are considered as beverages that boost mental and physical performance. Caffeine is the most common stimulant in these drinks. The amount of caffeine can range from 80 mg to over 500 mg. For comparison, one 5-ounce cup of coffee contains around 100 mg of caffeine. Red bull has it even more which can affect your body seriously.
A 250 ml can of Red Bull contains around 27.5 g of sugar. Energy drinks are the same as drinking coffee or soda, and you might have the same energy you get with coffee and soda. Red Bull may help in picking up your body, but the science shows that it’s only a temporary fix.

1. The first 10 minutes
The caffeine enters your bloodstream, and your heart rate and blood pressure will start to rise. Caffeine is highly addictive. The more you drink the more you need and you end up caught up in a vicious circle.
2. In 15 – 45 minutes
At some point during the first 15-45 minutes, depending on how fast you drink it, the levels of caffeine will peak, you’ll be alert and find your concentration is improved. This is due to caffeine being a stimulant drug. This is when it’s recommended to drink one if you are driving and feel you need to be more alert.
3. In 30 – 50 minutes
After all of the caffeine is fully absorbed, your liver absorbs more sugar into the bloodstream. High glucose levels cause our pancreas to release insulin, which can increase our chances of developing diabetes. It also causes us to store fat around your middle.
